starry_night

VIVID Sydney 2014

starry_night is a large-scale interactive installation by Brad Miller that I helped develop along with Adam Hinshaw in early 2014.

The installation involves a combination of cameras and Microsoft Kinect sensors to track the presence and movement of visitors – translating these via a 3D point cloud into a projected animated cosmos and constellations of stars. The software was written in C++/openFameworks and was installed as part of Vivid Sydney 2014.

starry_night was created by Brad Miller with Adam Hinshaw, Ian McArthur and Philippa Bateman.
